The left side button is just as sensitive but my thumb seems to stay out of its way. Any new mouse takes some getting used to but I had to disable the right side button because of its sensitivity. Logitech "REALLY" needs to address this. The sensitivity of these two buttons virtually makes them unusable thus we are not getting what we paid for. Am considering returning for another mouse.
In my case, with the receiver plugged into a USB hub about 3' away the operation was very irratic. This is a good and usable mouse. My only complaint is that it does not work well unless the USB wireless receiver is relatively close to the mouse. Relocating the receiver to the from of the computer (about 18" distant) seemes to cure the problem. For this reason, I give a 4 rating. Otherwise no complaints.
I woreout my old mouse (playing a game with a lot of drag and drop. This mouse cost only a little more than an exact replacement and it was "laser tracking" so I got it. Some of the extra buttons and features are sometimes in the way and I could do without them.
I bought this because I wanted an ergonomic cordless mouse for under $40, and Logitech products seemed to be more highly reviewed than Microsoft and other brands. On those days, the only solution for the stickiness is to go back to the track pad on my laptop, which makes me wonder why I even bought a mouse in the first place. I click on something and it won't un-click.
Works just like a mouse should (and I've never had a problem accidentally clicking the side buttons like other reviewers complained about). The only way to get the mouse to "un-click" is to hit the left click button repeatedly until it releases, and then hit undo as many times as it takes to fix whatever got screwed up by this heinous mouse behavior. About 70% of the time the mouse is great.
I do lots of graphic work in programs that require very fine movements and precise selections, so this stickiness is completely unacceptable. The other 30% of the time the mouse is completely frustrating. For lack of a better word, it's "sticky".
Bizarrely, the mouse is moody, and only exhibits this sticky behavior on certain days. Here's hoping that others have a better experience.
I kept hitting them and it cause unwanted things to occur. I really like the way the Logitech mice fit my hand. Everyone's hand is different and how we hold the mouse obviously varies, but with my grip and my hand size and shape, those buttons are in a lousy place. I'll keep this simple, since others have covered the details. It's great to look at but it sits in a drawer. Sadly, it stopped working, so I got this one.
I had the Logitech LX6 cordless and I liked it a lot.
I disabled them and that's no problem for me, since I rarely use the feature to move forward or back in, say, my browser.
From an aesthetic point of view, it is stunning.
I agree with those who have had problems with the side buttons.
I'm on a new Mac Pro Quad-Core and it came with the new mulit-button Mighty Mouse.
By the way, the scroll button is very smooth and quiet.
Otherwise, I love it.
It has all the features one needs in a mouse, but I do not like the feel of it.
The Logitech is, for my hand, a superior mouse.
